focus

There has been a serious lack of focus in Jessicaland. Not just in music, in everything. Wedding stuff isn't getting done, I'm not writing music, or listening, or studying. It's not that I don't have the time, because I do, I'm just not taking the time to do it, and I feel like I am letting people down, which makes me feel awful.

SO, there will be more focus. Because there really is no other option. To help with that, lists:

Wedding Stuff:
Pick cake
pick up shoes
pick up invitations
send out invitations
book string quartet
arrange string quartet
determine approx. list for bachorlette party
more registering

Music Stuff:
finish Ligeti orchestration
study Strauss
listen, listen, listen!!!
write 16 bar ABA, with 2 groups of six notes
devote minimum 30 min. daily to composery stuff
maybe actually work on my piece

It helps just to see it written down.

  • Balls to the wall. THat's how a composer should live and breathe. Even if they don't have balls. ESPECIALLY if they don't have balls.

    Devote time every day and JUST DO IT! Take heart, we all get discouraged sometimes. Remember why you are doing it in the first place.
